St. Chad’s House is a charming mid-terrace Victorian house nestled on Southfields in Leek, which has been a retreat house since 1998. the house features a beautiful chapel where worship is held.
You’ll also find a growing library, with books on the healing ministry, Celtic spirituality, theology and other topics. Plus you can now explore the library catalogue online.)
On the first floor there is a cosy guest lounge where guests can unwind, read or just enjoy the stunning view across Ladydale, a lovely wooded valley opposite the house.
The house offers a warm welcome though:
- a thoughtful programme of contemplative and other events is available (please click the links below to find out more)
- a lovely space available for individual retreats
- bookings for groups, e.g. church away days, quiet days, team days.

We can comfortably host up to 12 people for a day, with enough rooms for to accommodate small groups. We also provide a home-cooked lunch for groups visiting for the day or afternoon tea and light refreshments.
Suggested donation levels for use of the house are available on request.
